I’ve been using this every day for over a week now and it has really made a difference. I have major problems with my legs due to nerve damage caused by spinal injury. After 4 years of trying most things I wasn’t really holding out a lot of hope but, since this was similar to what they used on me in hospital I thought it was worth a try.
I have constant cramp in both legs and partial loss of sensation in both legs. Following spinal surgery I also have swelling in one leg and the muscles are usually in a hard knot (which can be quite painful). So, with this in mind, I was going to subject the Cleo Massage System to a pretty major test and it passed with flying colours.
The massage cream you get with the system is quite refreshing and leaves your skin feeling quite soft. The “boots” themselves don’t look that attractive when in use but who cares if they make a difference. Best way I can describe this is if you can imagine “boot shaped” blood pressure cuffs that cover your feet and lower legs then that is the sort of feeling you get when using this. Program is fixed for 20 mins and there are 3 strengths of inflation to choose from (I have used the strongest from the start). There are insoles you put inside the “boots” that work on the soles of your feet as they inflate). Even after the first use, for the first time in 4 years the “knots” in my calf had gone and there was actually movement in the muscle. OK it does knot up again but believe me even getting movement for a short time was pretty amazing to me. It also manages to knock the swelling out of my left leg which again is all down to nerve damage. If I walk a reasonable distance my legs still swell up and get pretty painful but a 20 min session with the “boots” and they soon relax again. Before starting use with these painkillers would have been my only option to keep moving.
Will they cure my problems? No – I’m realistic and will always have problems with my legs. Do they help provide relief for a time? Yes – definitely and if they help someone with the disabilities I have what can they do for tired legs? I have since purchased more of the massage cream and a crio gel product for the legs.
In just over one week I have stopped taking painkillers, swelling in left leg is not there all the time, the severe night cramps have stopped and I get occasional movement in the leg muscles. Very compact so it will be portable and coming with me when we holiday too.
Should point out that if you do have medical issues do check with your GP before using. In my case the hospital version had been used on me previously and they knew massage would provide temporary relief so it was very suitable for me and allows me a massage up to 3 times a day in the comfort of my own home. Would highly recommend this product.
